ZBA Draft! Let's Pick Philly's Next Zoning Chair

Earlier this week, Dave Davies broke the news that Jim Moylan, chair the powerful Zoning Board of Adjustment, had announced his resignation.

This followed on the news, initially reported in the Inquirer, that Moylan--who is Johnny Doc's chiropractor--was being investigated by the FBI as part of their probe of Doc and IBEW Local 98.

Historically, appointees to the ZBA haven't had the kind of civic and professional experience that the position deserves. Empowering patronage hires to adjudicate important zoning matters leaves the system vulnerable to short-sighted and arbitrary deviations from the newly-reformed 2012 Zoning Code.

But it doesn't have to be that way! There are plenty of high-caliber candidates who could replace Moylan as chair. Help us draft one of them by completing this questionnaire. On the form you'll be able to suggest names of potential appointees and identify the qualifications you think are most important for Jim Kenney's new zoning chair to have.
